The MPQ4371-AEC1 series step-down converters are frequency-adjustable (200kHz to 2.5MHz) synchronous step-down switching regulators that integrate low on-resistance (RDS(ON)) high-side and low-side MOSFETs (HS-FET and LS-FET, respectively).
This series of devices offers output currents (IOUT) ranging from 6A to 11A. Utilizing MPS's unique Zero Delay PWM (ZDPTM) control technology, they provide ultra-fast transient response while reducing the need for external capacitors. Their wide input voltage (VIN) range of 3.3V to 36V suits various step-down applications in automotive input environments. The 1.8μA shutdown quiescent current (IQ) also allows the device to be used in battery-powered applications. High power conversion efficiency across a wide load range is achieved by reducing switching and gate drive losses by lowering the switching frequency (fSW) under light load conditions.
The device also provides an open-drain power good (PG) signal output to indicate whether the output is within 94% to 106% of its nominal voltage. A frequency foldback function is also included to effectively prevent inductor current (IL) overshoot during startup. The device offers over-temperature shutdown protection for reliability and fault tolerance, and also provides a high duty cycle and low-dropout (LDO) mode to support automotive cold-crank conditions. It is available in a side-wettable QFN-23 (4mmx5mm) or TQFN-23 (4mmx5mm) package and is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified.
